Blue Light (460nm)
Kills bacteria and reduces inflammation by disrupting the acne growth environment.
Acne Treatment: When blue light is absorbed by the porphyrins secreted by Propionibacterium acnes, the porphyrins release free radicals that eliminate the bacteria.
Acne Prevention: In addition to bactericidal effects, blue light also controls sebum production, altering the living environment of Propionibacterium acnes and inhibiting its proliferation, thus preventing acne recurrence.
Red Light (660nm)
Anti-inflammatory and reparative properties, strengthening the skin barrier against external irritants.
Acne Inhibition: Promotes the absorption of local exudate, reducing swelling and inflammation. It also accelerates cellular metabolism, aiding in the healing of damaged skin.
Acne Prevention: Stimulates the secretion of collagen, increasing the thickness of the stratum corneum to create a barrier against external irritants such as skincare ingredients.

I ordered these out of curiosity and wasn’t sure how I’d like it. However, after a couple uses, it works exactly as expected and is something that I can use when at home. I’m no expert so I don’t know if the light is helping with h100 percent certainty, however, I can say there ids anecdotal evidence in my experience with the item. These seem to go beyond just a trendy, gimmicky skincare product and genuinely works well for me.

Overall, this is a very convenient and affordable red/blue light treatment option. It’s easy to use, kinda fun and gimmicky, and seems to speed things up a little with the BIG ones. (I don’t bother with the little ones so that these last longer. I just use a patch for those.;)
Note: Don’t lose the little pull tab thing from turning on the battery! You can just stick that back in to turn the thing off.

The directions recommend to apply this for 6-8 hours on your skin which I honestly was a bit nervous about as my face is prone to erythema pigmentation. However, I did apply 3 of these overnight for 8 hours and thankfully, no irritation nor hyperpigmentation afterwards (I also use tretinoin 0.05% as part of my skin routine in the evenings). The pieces are easy to peel off the skin, but they are a bit bulky and one of the lights came off during the night as I roll around in my sleep/switch between sleeping on my left and right side. The lights are not hot to the touch.

I’ve used pimple patches before as well as red light masks and this I guess combines the two together. I’m not sure if this is really necessary if you already own a red light mask and the patches work pretty well by themselves so I think this is kind of gimmicky. But also kind of a fun and hopefully somewhat useful thing to try out. It is kind of a pain to have to take the battery out in order to turn off the red light though.

You place these on your big blemishes. It will bring some of the swelling down. I would clean after each use. I would use one at a time.
